Schipholtunnel

Project: Sealing of joints Schiphol Airport
Description of the project:
The ‘’schipholtunnel’’ is struggling for years with leakage problems. With the coming of the new Airbus 380 (the heaviest passengers plane in the world), the taxi flight path needed to be strengthened. This was a good opportunity to seal the joints. First of all, the old asphalt and concrete layer were removed so that the joints were exposed. A Liquid Rubber Applicator sealed the joints (50cm long and 3cm width) with HB S-200. Once the joint was filled, two new layers of HB S-200 were applied reinforced with Geotextile. After that, a covering layer of the BelowGrade was sprayed on.
