Project: Air barrier Hospital Arnhem
This project there needed an air barrier seal between the steel columns and the wooden facade panels. Usually a very difficult seal because of the different expansion coefficients of the steel and wood, but a very easy job with Liquid Rubber.
Liquid Rubber was applied with an airless pump system. In the still wet first layer of Liquid Rubber, a geotextile was placed. Afterwards, a second layer of Liquid Rubber was sprayed on directly.
This is a very quick and effective way of air barrier sealing. Because of the flexibility of Liquid Rubber (900%), it can easy work with the expansion of both surfaces.
